- Answer I don't use it myself, but it allows you to answer a call. I don't know if it will control an iPod.

- Answer How long is the cord? I would say the earbuds are about 36 inches give or take. Four cords? I have no idea what 4 cords you are referring to on this piece. Sorry I can't answer that question.
