A pigtail antenna is a wire that extends from the back of the radio. If you've ever owned a clock radio with an FM tuner, you might have seen one coming out the back or side of the radio. You can purchase them online. Technically the antenna connector on the radio is a 3.5mm jack. If you search for Female F connector to male 3.5mm jack, you can find adapters that allow you to plug a conventional TV antenna into it. It will work just fine.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a related question: What is the impedance of teh antenna jack? I've tried a twinlead dipole and an FM yagi antenna, but the pigtail supplied with the radio outperforms both of those, and I suspect impedance mismatch might be the reason.
