“Step 5 of installation confuses me - attaching the back panel. Instructions are saying to screw bolt into bolt nut, but the bolt nut is just a small screw? How do these attach?”

The bolt nuts are internally threaded black pieces that insert into the holes. The screw bolts into the nut. The bolt nut labeled ( R ) inserts from the front side and the bolts ( Q ) thread in from the back side.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.They both go in at the same time. Work the long bolt in first then the short one. Use one Allen wrench to hold one bolt and use the other one to tighten. Took me a while, but finally figured it out. Hope this helps.
