• You have options. Use just the shelves and sit the TV on the top. Use the shelves and mount TV to the wall behind. Or attach the mounting back and swivel bracket.

• Yes the TV Mount is optional. You can build it with just the part behind the shelves that stops at the top shelf.

• Yes of course !!! You can just use the option of sitting your TV on the stand's top shelf.. Depend on TV weight ( 135 lb)

• Yes, you are able to assemble the stand without the additional swivel stand assembly. This will allow you to have just the 3 shelves without the mounting piece sticking out the top. Keep in mind that the maximum weight on the top shelf is 135 pounds.
