I would say yes that this stand would be very good and stable with your 48 inch TV. My TV is a bit smaller but I can see that it would fit a 48 inch TV easily.

By product design the product can accommodate various televisions. This product fit my 43" LG television. I assembled the product exactly as the instructions instruct. Again, I am 99.9999 percent sure this product will fit all LG televisions within the product manufacturer's recommendations.
