• I had help and we measured the Height Bracket(vertical) at 18 inches before we decided the distance to put the horizontal brackets.The latter brackets were installed 1: approx. 2 holes from the bottom, and 2: in the last hole at the top..

• From the base of the stand, you can mount the tv about 6 inches above the base. I mounted a 55 inch tv on my stand at the maximum height. The tv mounts nicely on the stand and it's very stable. The stand sits on a piece of furniture, so it's lifted off the floor.
