I think that it would be risky to install this stand at that height if you want both the stand and the TV to have some degree of protection, in general. Here again, you can ask someone at Best Buy; however, I do not believe in toying with equipment. I include no photos; I am not a mechanic, and do not have time to play with a phone camera.

No. About 9 -10 inches. It is tall enough to for my klipsch icon center speaker to fit between the base of the stand and the bottom of the TV.
