I recommend asking the salesperson in the store. If it can't be adapted, they will take it back.

It fits our 43 inch sony great. Saved us from buying a new piece of furniture for it. It tells you what size tv and weight it will hold. It is very sturdy. I think it would hold a 50 inch no problem but please read about it to make sure.
