• I'm not positive, but it looks to me like you can. Each of the 3 sections of the stand has an individual piece of thin fiberboard that makes up the back. Each section is attached to the metal frame with 7 screws which look like they'd be easy to remove (although I haven't tried it). The fiberboard pieces don't seem to be providing much support to the stand, so it doesn't look to me like it would cause many problems if you did remove any of the back sections.
