I'm not sure, specifically, about Sony, but generally speaking, there are programming codes for just about every single brand of TV, and it works great with my uncommon TV (yes, there was even a code for a tv which is no longer in production). I'm sorry I couldn't be more specific about your question. I felt at that price, it was worth a shot. And it's a great remote. Good luck.
