“I have a laptop that does not have a VGA input, so I'm looking for an adapter to plug into my USB port that my VGA male end can connect into for my overhead at school. Will this work?”

Yes, I had the same setup and it resolved. Follow the online instructions is my recommendation as they are well detailed:-)

I doubt it would work. I used the HDMI jack and zero problems.

This should work. Like I said in my review you need some moderate technical ability and understanding to get this set up with the correct driver and working properly.
