I use this adapter all of the time when I use an older lightning to USB A cable to charge my phone or magic two mouse. This adapter conforms to USB 3.0 standard. The USB C cables Apple sells for charging only conform to the USB 2.0 standard. There should be no problem. The reason I mention the USB standards is because I believe the newer standards allow more power delivery.
