There are bluetooth devices, I think, that one can use to navigate a small amount of apps/media. These are limited and apps can be sketchy. This isn't a device that reaches much farther than allowing users to experience video in VR.

Please try again later.You can download google cardboard app and use it for visiting a few landmarks, riding a great rollercoaster, etc. I use it mostly for watching movies. You rip your movies into MP4 format and download free version movie players. It makes you feel like you are watching the movie on a huge cinema size screen. Love it. There are apps for iOS that work as well. You can place MP4 movies via iTunes onto iPhones (Just be sure you own the film...otherwise it's illegal).
