I had the same problem. I have a really cheap Android phone that won't let me use the official Google cardboard app (says unsupported.) However, I was able to find a third party viewer on the play store that did the job.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably. Trying looking up Google Cardboard online (like it says to do on the side of the box) & see what requirements you'll need on your phone. Short answer - iphone 7, 6 or 5 (or equivalent Android) are probably fine. We used an iphone 5 that gets all the regular software updates (so it's software is current is my point) & were able to find 2 or 3 basic aps to play with.
