The note 3 might be a bit too big

Not completely sure but you have to download google cardboard or equivalent app. if you can download the app and the app works on your phone then it should work. its made to fit various sizes. Check with the description before you buy.

YES YES YES! My exact phone. Leave the rubber band in place (the friction helps keep the phone from shifting). One reason I decided to try this was because it was inexpensive and my (our!) older phone isn't compatible with fancier VR units. The little control button with capacitive fabric is quite clever.
