Enable Search or Scan on the phone, and push and hold both the + and - on the speaker for 2-3 seconds until the display says bt. They should both see each other and pair. If not try doing a hard reset on the speaker, power it back on, then wait a few minutes after the time is displayed again before trying to re-pair the two. If you're trying to connect via WiFi, then you need to use the Google Home app. In the Home app, go to devices and see if it's listed as a new device to setup - if so follow the prompts. If it's not listed, then press the add button, and again, follow the prompts. As it walks you through the steps be patient. It uses Bluetooth and WiFi to make the connections and it takes a moment or two to make all the background switching. (Note: although Home setup uses Bluetooth temporarily, it DOES NOT make a BT pairing. This has to be done separately as described above.)
