QuestionWhen I use it as an alarm *OK Google STOP* it stops but the clock will flash forever unless I unplug it & plug it back in. Yesterday I got it to stop by cancelling all my future alarms. What's the fix for this annoying issue?

- Answer Just press one of the volume buttons to stop the alarm instead of using the "Stop" voice command. I don't know if this behavior is by design, but I agree it's annoying.

- Answer Usually we get this message when there is poor connection from my router for Internet, try using an extender or do the power drain exercise and try again...

- Answer No, this unit does not have an aux input. No, you can only connect using Bluetooth.

- Answer Technically yes, you can. As long as you have a way to plug it in. Realistically, it doesn't matter where you want to use it - this speaker rarely works. It will disconnect CONSTANTLY, requiring you to power cycle it because it can't be reset through the Google home app. Also, even if it seems like it's working (clock displays the correct time, instead of saying "nET") it will often respond by saying "sorry, but I can't connect to the internet right now" or "hmm, something went wrong, try again later" Recommend you to spend your money on a Google home mini. The larger speaker is not worth the headaches (and it's honestly not THAT much better sound)

QuestionI have been trying for hours to set up the device. I have reset the router, the speaker and even the app. For some reason it still wont connect. Does this speaker require a certain router setting besides Disabling access point and guest network ??

- Answer Welcome to the rest of your ownership with this device. Even when you do manage to get it setup, it's just going to lose connection again in a few hours and display "nET" until you unplug it. Make sure you're using a 2.4 ghz wifi signal to connect it, don't bother with 5 Even though it shouldn't have to be, make sure your phone is on the same wifi signal you intend to use *before* you try and add the device Be patient. When I have to reconnect mine it sometimes takes five minutes Restart your phone, unplug the device, and try again Good luck I didn't have to disable access point or guest.

- Answer One in store was display model showing what it looked like. The temp only displays for a few seconds when you ask Google what the temperature is and the temperature that it shows is what it is outside.

- Answer I had to actually call Insignia and give their cs/engineers the MAC address of my device. Essentially the self updating was broken, and I'm assuming they had to whitelist my hardware to allow the update to flow. After this call, it updated within 24 hours.

- Answer I know Google had an outage with their Assistant platform a few days ago. You may want to exchange it! Could be a bad power supply if nothing lights up. Check your Google Assistant app to see if it shows up!

Questionspeaker has two fail "modes" ... it displays "bt" or "LOAd" blinks ... no other response to either touch or voice. Google Home (running on android phone) does not display any connection or option for the speaker. Is it toast?... got it for christmas 2017

- Answer "bt" means Bluetooth is active. The speaker is waiting for a paired device to send it audio content to play. Turn it off by saying "Hey Google, Bluetooth Off". I'm sure "LOAd" is something similar, should be covered in the manual or online.

QuestionI have the mini model (no battery). The LED status light on the back of my device began to steadily blink. There is no mention of this phenomenon in the manual. I sleep next to this infernal device and the light is driving me crazy. Please help.

- Answer Flashing light means the device had some sort of error and doesn't know what to do. Unplug it and plug it back in. You'll be doing this fairly often, so get used to it. I suggest connecting the speaker to a smart outlet, or an extention cord with a switch, so you can more easily reboot the device as needed... it's that frequent.

QuestionHow bright it is at night? Do the led lights light up the entire room or is it comparable to the old school red alarm clock light? i like to sleep with it as dark as possible, so I don't want a clock acting as a nightlight.

- Answer Guess what? It's a smart speaker. Just say "Hey Google, turn off display" or if it's off, "Hey Google, turn on display". Also, you can tell it to adjust the brightness. You can also manually adjust using the "- and O" or the "+ and O". Does anyone ever look at setup guides or owners manuals?

- Answer I can choose from a few local stations. I don't have to go through iheartradio or anything to get them. I think it depends on the station itself.

QuestionIs there a way to set a maximum volume on the device or Google Home? Sometimes other people turn it up over my personal cutoff level or it will accidentally be set too loud. I want to make it so that it is not possible to raise the volume over that point.

- Answer There is no way to limit the volume on any Google home product currently. Best option I can think of is to use and app called IFTTT to create a routine that will set the volume to x% on all your devices when you get home. Another option would be to create several routines in IFTTT that set the volume to x% and repeat every hour or thirty minutes or however often you like. Alternately, you can enable night mode in Google home Go to devices, tap the menu icon of the speaker you want to limit the volume of, go to settings, and tap night mode. There you can set a range of times during which you want the speaker volume to be automatically reduced. But if the volume is changed during those hours, it stays loud until the next "night time" trigger.
