Yes, does only work with Google home mini, it connects to them through Bluetooth
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you have Google Home installed on your phone, you can find and add the light using that and then this speaker will be able to control the light. Do not install the C by GE app, instead find the bulb using the Google Home app and you should be fine. I have this speaker and a C by GE light in my master bedroom and I can control the light via Google Home app from anywhere or by voice using this speaker. I do have other Google Minis and a Google Hub in my home connected to my Google Home app, but they would be pushing the Bluetooth range of the light - so guess there is the chance that you would still need a Google mini, but based on the location I don't think that is the case. Hope you can get it worked out - if you want to spend a little more on lights, you can get WIZ wife lights for close to the same cost as the C by GE lights and they will definitely work with this speaker. You can find the white WIZ bulbs for around $10 each and the color bulbs are around $12.50.
