• I find that I need to tap the power button for a second and then hold it down.

• I returned mine for a few reasons and that was one of the reasons. Also, they would power off after 20 minutes. I never paired them to a device, I bought them to truly cancel noise. I think they HAVE to be paired for this not to happen. They were difficult and not that great at noise canceling. Back to expensive BOSE.
