“If I bought a head set--do they work when turned on and the tv is on PERIOD----OR DO I HAVE TO FIND THEM ON A MENU AND ASK THE TV TO ACTIVATE THEM???”

For my Samsung 65"I had to pair them one time and then select to use them each time I turn on the tv. Very routine after you start using them
