Q: QuestionAlthough it is stainless inside, is the material of the basket which touches your food ceramic coated or another material free of PTFE & PFOA? Our last Vortex trays were non-stick and began peeling into the food and into our bodies, which is dangerous!

• A:Answer Hello Caramia. The coating materials for the cooking trays and drip tray do contain PTFE, also known as Teflon, and these coatings are PFOA free.

• A:Answer The inside of the vortex plus is not a nonstick surface. I suggest you clean it after every use, if you don't the grease builds up and then it becomes a chore to clean.
