You need a motherboard that has a 300 series chipset, it’ll say x370 or h370, something like that, these motherboards are pretty recent so if you haven’t bought a computer in awhile I doubt you already have one
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Look at your motherboard's box and see which generation it's compatible with. This processor for instance is an 8th gen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Look up your motherboard find out which chipset it has and which socket it has then look up the to see what the 8700 is required to have for those.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check your socket on the board. You would need an LGA1151.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.make sure you have an LGA1151 socket
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This cpu will work fine with any x170 - x370 motherboard, if you want to find out what motherboard you have most manufacturers put the name directly on the motherboard itself, but if you have an old computer and the motherboard is green or something, chances are it’s not compatible, so just check to see if it’s a x170, x270, or x370, also if you have a amd cpu already on your motherboard then you definitely can’t put an intel cpu in it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can check your motherboard against the processor you want to install. This processor supports a FCLGA1151 socket. Your motherboard must also support this type of socket. I'm not sure about all motherboard manufacturers but some print the make and model of the motherboard right on the board itself. If you do not have the manual for the board you can generally check the manufacturers website for technical specifications. One more thing I might add is that if you are planning on installing the processor yourself, be aware that they will only fit one way and if you attempt to force it into the board, the processor pins might become damaged.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A CPU matches the motherboard on the socket type. In this case. the socket type motherboard you are looking for is LGA 1151
