Unfortunately, the Solar Mat is not be effective this situation. The Intex Solar Mat is an energy efficient way to capture the sun's rays to heat up your above ground swimming pool. It is designed to increase temperature of pool water by approximately 5 - 9° F depending on weather conditions. Intex does not recommend leaving your pool outside during the winter if the temperature gets below 32° / 0° Celsius.
