    • Answer The Solar Mat was designed only for Intex Above Ground pools with a maximum water capacity of 8,000 gallons and with a filter pump with a flow rate of no more than 2,000 gph.     • Answer Unfortunately, the Solar Mat is not be effective this situation. The Intex Solar Mat is an energy efficient way to capture the sun's rays to heat up your above ground swimming pool. It is designed to increase temperature of pool water by approximately 5 - 9° F depending on weather conditions. Intex does not recommend leaving your pool outside during the winter if the temperature gets below 32° / 0° Celsius. The cold temperature will cause the liner to freeze (become brittle) and it can crack. We hope you found this information helpful.
