• if youbuy software and file on your computer you have all the records to fall back on also next year it will bring forward info from this year tax return and more private than doing on line

• Well you would have the actual CD ROM of the software versus using their website and they store all your data. Personally if I got it for free I would file on their site but I don't so I buy it because it's cheaper than using their site. I think they only offered the easy form free and that does not cover state.
