I do not know about Vista. My first one worked between an XP and Win 7, so I imagine it will manage the Vista version as well.

Yes, it will work with any OS. It is OS independent. Simply hitting the scroll lock button on your keyboard twice will switch between inputs. So long as the systems you are connecting to have a 15 pin VGA port, it works fine.

Yes. Unit should support Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000 or higher, XP, Vista, 7, 8, & 8.1. I'm using using Windows 7 on my Laptop and Windows 8.1 on my desktop. Both work and are compatible with this IO gear KVM switch.
