We use this transmitter with a TIVO Roamio OTR. The Transmitter remote is only used by us to turn the transmitter and receiver ON & OFF for reception of a second television... The channel changing is done with the TIVO remote (peanut)... So to answer your question, "NO", the remote will NOT change channels from the sending room... Hope this helps. I strongly urge you to go into your Best Buys and listen to the folks there, regarding your particular setup... They helped us plus we bought GEEK Squad support for home installation.
