Most magnetic ring attachments in the market fall into two groups, metallic rings and true magnetic rings. Metallic rings have a tendency to conduct heat during wireless charging (regardless of the charger) while true magnetic rings are far less conductive, The Easy One Touch 2 will work with an iPhone 14 with a MagSafe compatible case, but you might run into overheating issues if the ring you have is made of metal. (If smoke started coming from the mount itself, than it's probably an issue with the mount rather than the ring). Hope this helps!
