• If I used my CD player I honestly probably wouldn't use this. As for damage, I can't see how it would unless the cd player was a really cheap one and someone tried to pull this out while it was still locked. You obviously would not want to force the phone holder around while it was locked in the cd player.

• I never use the CD player so I really don't care because the thing is stable and works for me.
