• Will depend on your case. My Otterbox Symmetry didn't not work well with just the Magsafe magnet. You'll need to use the metal plate if your case is too thick.

• I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max with a case on. I stuck the magnet on the back of my case and it works just fine. If you leave it INSIDE your case, the magnet may not be strong enough to catch onto the mount and may slide off
