• It wouldn’t go over carpet because it has no way to cover the mop it just avoids it if you have room to make a part where’s its hard wood you can get it to go on the side but it won’t ever go on carpet

• Even though I never used it on rugs , instructions say detects rugs and avoids mopping over any.

• Seems unlikely. Mostly the carpet is tall enough to trigger avoidance. If it climbed up on the carpet, I would expect the extra friction to trap it in that spot.
