• It doesn't climb onto rugs but the edge may receive a tiny bit of moisture.

• Hello Bill, The mop does not have floor sensing capacity like some of our newer models. Robots like the Roomba Combo® 10 Max which also offer both vacuuming and mopping and tons of other features.
