“Will it work on a medium pile carpet or on a shag carpet?”

• It can, but not too well. It sweeps well but it does suck up dirt etc. from carpets. It will.pick up the surface dirt, but can’t replace a real vaccum on carpet.

• No. You might get it to work on just plain floor. Mine won't clean anything in my house . Sorry
