Hi Karen- The robot's behavior depends on the weight of the rugs and the length of the fringe. If the rug is a bit heavier, or secured with a rug mat, Roomba may simply drive over the fringe. If Roomba can't drive over, its anti-tangle technology will cause it to back up and away from the fringe.
