• The Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barrier - item #4636429 - can be used to keep your robot in the rooms you want cleaned and out of the ones you don't. You can also use it in halo mode to keep it away from areas you want to protect (pet bowls, for instance).

• It comes with a small battery powered "virtual wall" box that you set up to keep it out of an area. The virtual wall shoots an invisible light beam that the robot can see and will not cross

• There is a device you place on the floor & it limits where the roomba can go. You get one of theses with the room a bit can purchase more
