• You can use your current phone, if it’s a smart phone. The Robot had an app you just download.

• You only need a smartphone there is no specific phone its letting you know you can operate with your phone if your away so it may say incase you think smartphone comes with it

• one of the pictures on the ad for this vacuum shows a phone in it which is representing you can control it with your phone. im assuming they said phone sold separately so people wouldn't be expecting to receive a phone with their vacuum. the app should work on any iphone or android phone.
