• You absolutely can, you would simply turn it on by pressing the clean button, which is the circle on the top of the unit.

• The Roomba 960 (actually all Roomba models) can be controlled manually and the app is not required. Just push the Clean button to activate the vacuum. If you don’t use the app you will lose some of the functionality of the Roomba such as scheduling and mapping.
