• Picks up kitty litter no problem. Should have no problem with rubber mat. These things are really impresive.

• I do not know about kitty litter. I do not have an indoor cat. I have 3 mats in my kitchen. Two are thicker and one is not so thick and it does fine with them. I have an area rug that it has trouble getting on. It is thicker. Otherwise does an excellent job. I love it because it gets along the edges/baseboards, also. Janice

• No problems at all.. Have both, picks up litter amazingly well and runs on the mat in rug / carpet mode on very high RPM to pull the litter out of the mat.
