Yes. I have a dark wood living room floor that my roomba cleans excellently every day.

Yes, we just installed bamboo hardwoods that our pretty dark. Main reason I bought it because everything tends to show. Love, Love, Love it. We have it set to run every other day and it does amazing work. It cannot get onanything very thick, we have 2 shag area rugs that it can not clean, but does do the edges. Great at working around chairs, tables etc. we have a 980 and absolutely love it. Hope this helps.

It DOES NOT work on my grey pool house hardwood floors. It won't vacuum a foot before it errors saying move to another location. If you don't believe me, search the internet for something resembling "how to block roomba cliff sensors" and you will get dozens of results. I've essentially tried every method but it won't disable the sensors. This purchase was a real mistake.

I have laminated wood floors. The 980 rumba, Clean my floors beautifully I thought it was going to pick up a little dirt, but, The rumba has surprised me by cleaning my laminated floors and carpets. I am very pleased with it .

I think it is color blind, so should work on dark or light surfaces.
