• I don't have bird seed, but it could easily pick up dog food. And it has a little sweeper to get in cracks.

• I've only had this iRoomba for about a month now and I had it pick up some ground flaxseed that fell on the floor. It did most of the work but before it picks everything up it'll toss it around specially since most seeds are round and will roll on the floor. So I suggest sweep the floor of any large pile before using the Roomba.
