The j5 series you'll have to manually put the mop feature and the robot doesn't detect carpets, which could make your Roomba wet the carpeted areas. The j7 already has the mop ready to go and you can select it if you want to vacuum+mop, just vacuum or just mop. It also detects carpets so if you select vacuum+mop it will automatically skip carpeted areas.
