Mine lasts about an hour of vacuuming before it returns to recharge. So it really depends on how many rooms, what it needs to work around and things like that will determine how long it takes.

When you notice that Roomba's runtime has diminished to 15-20 minutes before needing a charge, it will be time to replace the battery. Keep in mind, Roomba's goal is to reduce the time it takes to clean your home by raising the baseline of cleanliness. Short runtimes may be due to the fact that Roomba has determined the area to be clean, and returns to the Home Base earlier than usual.
