QuestionI bought a 675 unit but it doesn’t have mapping. Does the I 3 have mapping? Which ones do? Can you personally make the vacuum clean where you want and program different rooms with the I3? Does this model move to carpet from hardwood better than the 675?

- Answer No, the i3 does NOT have smart mapping... which means you cannot tell it to clean specific areas in your home. The higher tier models (i7, s9) DO have the feature. The i3, however, has a "Clean Map" feature where it tells you where its cleaned. The Clean Map is found in the "history" section in the iRobot Home app. Not sure how the 675 handles carpet to wood or vice versa... but the i3 does a great job... I have no issues with it getting stuck or turning back thinking it's an obstacle.

- Answer yes, the "Clean Base" is sold as a separate attachment and works with any of the roomba "i" series.

- Answer Roomba i3 does work with 220 voltage. To avoid voiding the warranty, the robot shouldn’t be used outside of the country in which it was purchased.

- Answer I moved mine to the second floor manually, I did bring the charger up to though, since I wanted it to do under my bed a few times. It just did it’s thing and It worked amazing!

- Answer It doesn’t have to have WiFi to work but it has to have WiFi to use the app. You just have to push the button on the vacuum to start it instead of starting by the app. No big deal really.

QuestionI have a 9x15 shag rug in our living room. My search for a vacuum robot to clean it suggested the Roomba i3. There are no base brushes, which the reviews said would help. Reviewers say otherwise… not good on shag. Does it clean a shag rug??

QuestionWhy the battery cord does not connect as it should? I connected the cord, but the battery light turn off immediately. It is happening with the vacuum cord and so with the the mop cord. I followed instructions but still.

- Answer If you see lights going off after a few seconds on your robot or Home Base when beginning to charge, know that your Home Base and the robot are equipped with an energy conserving feature.

- Answer Hello, Yes, you can buy a new Roomba and the robot will automatically detect the Clean Base. The Clean Base uses a sensor to communicate with the Roomba and it is universal.

- Answer It doesn't really hit the obstacles it slowy approaches it then gently taps it. Then it mives around it. It wont damage legs

- Answer Hello Scott, The robot only plugs into a 120v outlet, if you’d like to use your robot on a 220v then you would need a 220v splitter. As a general rule, do not purchase a robot outside the country you intend to use it from.
