• It’s going to struggle and possible get stuck. I had to setup No clean zones on my rugs and I just vacuum them with my handheld vacuum.

• I think it will get stuck. It goes over our rugs; but ours is very fine woven.

• Hello Cookie, The maximum height of a threshold that all Roomba models can transition over, when performing a cleaning cycle, is ⅝ in (1.6 cm). If your carpet is higher than that, the robot will have a hard time transitioning. But the i7+ will be very effective for shag carpets in terms of cleaning.
