There is a button on the unit to allow you to tell it to go clean, but If you don't have WiFi, I would get a less expensive model as many of the advantages would not be available if you could not communicate with it as a smart device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. It needs wifi for software updates, and also for getting it to clean if you've forgotten to schedule a cleaning when you're outside the home. Such as last minute cleaning.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Here’s a copy/paste from the roomba FAQs: Roomba robot vacuums do not need Wi-Fi to clean your Home. You can simply Push CLEAN on the robot and the robot will get to work. If you need to clean a specific area, you can push the SPOT Clean button, and then press Home for Roomba to return home. It is important to remember the robot must start on the Home Base for it to return home. Our new Roomba models utilize Wi-Fi technology to connect to the iRobot Cloud through the iRobot HOME app to enable such features as Google/Alexa compatibility, scheduling, Push Notifications, adjusting cleaning preferences, and receiving Over the Air Software updates. For a complete overview of all the great features available when connected to Wi-Fi, please visit this FAQ for more details.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need WiFi. All Roomba models will work by simply pushing the Clean button on the robot. However, there are several step-up features on the i7 - such as directed room cleaning, choosing cleaning behavior, scheduling and teaming - that do require connectivity. If you aren't going to use WiFi, it might be best to choose a more entry-level robot.
