I think its quiet on carpet. I can watch tv with it going about the living room. On hard surfaces its quite noisy. And when it gets vacuumed out by the base its very loud. Like it would wake a sleeping baby. Or a person trying to sleep. I have 3 cats and 3 dogs. It ussually goes back to the base 3 times to empty itself when i set it to clean my main floor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would say it’s 2-3 notches quieter than a standard vacuum. I have been able to watch tv over the Roomba granted I put the volume up. But expect to wear earmuffs when it returns to its docking station. It sounds like a jet is taking off in your living room when the Roomba returns to base and activates the suction to clean out the contents into the dock. However this only lasts for about 10 seconds until it stops and the Roomba sings you a short chime to tell you it has fully completed the cleaning session. For this reason if do decide to run the unit, be sure to run it or schedule it to run anytime but bedtime/late at night.
