Hi Frank- Your robot will absolutely find its way under your couch. All Roombas are designed with a soft-touch bumper that's designed to softly approach an obstacle (such as drapes, bed skirts, furniture coverings as you describe) to determine if it can pass through to continue cleaning.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Newer firmware prevents the robot from even touching the skirt. Too many people complained about the robot bumping into things. So now if it sees something ahead (wall, couch skirt!,...) it treats them as walls and will not clean under the couch. I wish there was a way to go back to light bumping instead of full-avoidance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.iRobot should adapt, however. you might want to check height of cleaner to clearance on furniture. If it doesn’t go under, it should clean very close to furniture. Might get stuck if clearance is close. You will receive notice thru the app. If not home, machine will go into sleep mode until you can respond to notice.
