The i7+ and newer versions use sight and feel to get around your home. Rupanel maps your home on the first few runs. It uses this map to get around your home and updates every time it runs. For example if a chair moves it will update the map to reflect a chair is moved and remember it for next time. You can set no go zones on the app using the map that Roomba has created of your home. I can't speak for all roombas but my Roomba has never dropped dirt when transferring from one service to another. The newer series is much better at maintaining what has picked up.

However, the Roomba i7+ no longer requires a virtual wall to restrict Roomba to a specific area. Via the iRobot Home App, you are now able to draw Keep Out Zones which will communicate to Roomba the areas of the home that will not require cleaning. The Roomba i7+ features automatic disposal, where Roomba will return to the Clean Base to remove debris. You should not be experiencing Roomba depositing debris on the floor as it cleans. Should this occur, please contact our Robot Experts at 1-877-855-8593.
