Can you use the app to control the direction? null

You cannot control the direction but you can setup zones. You can tell the Roomba to either stay out of those zones or clean just one of them. Literally just tell it to zone your kitchen area and it will go right to the kitchen, clean and return to the base.

Yes. It can be programmed. You can also stop and send it home or start it from the app. I have mine programmed for certain days and times but sometimes I just want to clean one area
