Depends how long the fringes are, not for shag carpet
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My bathroom rug has fringe on the ends and it does work with them, but seems a bit hard on the fringe, so I pick them up and shake them, or let Roomba do a spot cleaning. It does climb up on my throw rugs nicely, however
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works well in plane rugs but you better not used if rugs have fringe
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Like long fringe, similar to pet hair in consistency? Probably as the dual rollers are excellent at removing pet hair. However, the intelligence of the i8+ allows you to configure no clean zones in the app. Map the room without the rugs first, place the rugs back and draw in the app the location of no clean and viola, no snagged tassels/fringe.

If the rug is lightweight, not secured to the floor or the fringes are very long and fine, Roomba will navigate around the fringe and may nudge your rug out of its way. If it's problematic, you may want to use a Keep Out Zone or Virtual wall for the rug, or simply pick it up when running your robot.
